I am a professional drummer and teacher providing private drum lessons in Orpington, Kent and surrounding areas.

I received my BA(Hons) Degree at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford and have studied privately with some of the finest players and educators in the world, including Pete Riley, Ralph Salmins, Dave Elitch and Darby Todd.

I have been teaching since 2006 and have experience of providing drum lessons to students of all abilities, aged 8 through to 60+. I love nothing more than being able to share my knowledge so that others can benefit, progress and enjoy themselves, and avoid some of the mistakes I’ve learnt along the way as well!

Bespoke drum lessons to fit your goals

Whether you’re a beginner or advanced player, I can tailor a lesson plan to help you develop and improve in the areas you want in order to match what your goals.

I have a Personal Performance Diploma in Coaching and enjoy using this skillset in order to help students set great goals, as well as tackling performance mindset issues such as stage fright and audition preparation.

Topics can include:

  • Musical styles
  • How to play in a band
  • All things technique: rudiments, moeller technique – all in the name of avoiding injury and playing in as natural a way as possible
  • Co-ordination and independence
  • Reading: Sight-reading, chart interpretation, learn how to play theatre shows
  • Repertoire (songs to play with bands, for auditions or just a bit of fun)
  • Groove and fill playing
  • Playing to backing and click tracks
  • Grades if requested
